User Features
This Wave model has four exterior blades that can be accessed even while the tool is closed. (Note: the knife blade can only be opened when the tool is closed.) You can open the blades with one hand by placing your thumb in the thumbhole at the base of the blade, and rotating until the knife is fully extended. This securely engages the locking mechanism.
The saw and file both have nail nicks at their tips for easy access. The locking mechanism is marked with a padlock symbol on the tool itself. To unlock the blades, all you have to do is press the locking mechanism toward the handle until the blade slides past the lock.
Accessing the interior features is a snap, too — just grip the handles and rotate them open. Each interior blade can be opened by using the nail nicks. The scissors extend in the very same way, and they lock into place for secure, safe use. And of course, it’s easy to change the tool bits, too. Just remove the bit from the driver and pop a new one into place.

Customer Review: Great multitool
I own a few multitools and think this is one of the better ones I have owned. I mainly carry the Juice S2 but when I know I might need something a little more heavy duty like hiking or camping, I use the Wave. I am always surprised when I read reviews where people complain that they can’t replace their entire tool box with it, or that it not as good as the real tool…Duh. They are great for what they are, to use for small jobs or in a pinch when no other tools are handy. I use mine a lot for computer work and find both the S2 and Wave to be sufficient for about 90% of my work. I really like the blades, they are very sharp and well made. Several other companies have started producing their multitools in China and it is starting to show in their quality. Stick with Leatherman, it’s American made.

This is a replacement Wave for my husband. He lost his first one on a job site and immediately told me to buy him a new one for Christmas.
The Leatherman Wave is an excellent item! Well made, durable, and easy to use. The leather sheath that holds the Wave is attractive, tough, and slides right onto a belt. The Leatherman Wave has countless uses and is a very handy item for any man (or woman!) to own. I keep one in my car at all times!
