Customer Review: Sturdy and Doesn’t Leak
I have this bottle in a smoke gray color. There’s a litany of pros to be said about this bottle. The narrow mouth better fits my lips, so I don’t accidentally dribble water. The Polycarbonate material is odor resistant, and the walls are thick enough to handle some abuse. The cap fits tightly and doesn’t spill a drop. The graduated volumetric markings are easy to read. If you’re eco-conscious, reusing a container is more ecological than disposing of hundreds of packaged water bottles.

The negatives: the loop (to secure the cap to the neck) can get in the way of your hand. This can get annoying if you frequently open the bottle like I do sitting in class. I chose this over a sport-type bottle with a valve because this screw on cap is leakproof.

Somewhat of a tangent: the debate on the health effects of the BPA contained in Polycarbonate is still ongoing. Right now, the FDA and the EFSA have no grievances with humans drinking from these bottles.

Bottom line: great ten dollars spent on a very trusty water bottle.
Customer Review: Well made…but
This is, admittedly, a good bottle. Anything that gets people to stop using bottled water and just reuse a container is better for the environment. The size is good, the mouth the right size (narrow is better for drinking but a bit harder to clean), and the construction solid. I only wish I had done a bit more research before I bought these regarding the health issue related to food storage in polycarbonate plastic. Polycarbonate/Lexan is made using Bisphenol-A, an estrogen receptor agonist and carcinogen. As the bottles are washed with detergent and high temperature liquid, the plastic breaks down over time and gives off this chemical. A growing scientific consensus suggests that this is not a good thing, and can have health consequences, especially for children. In the future, I will likely buy bottles made of stainless steel, HDPE (Nalgene sells HPDE bottles like this, although they are sometimes hard to find), LDPE, or polypropylene, none of which have the problems that polycarbonate/Lexan have. While not as pretty as these clear PC bottles, reuseable water bottles made of these alternate materials are more recyclable generally and it would appear likely better for your health. buy from here…
