Customer Review: Great board… Alton Brown approved!
My wife and I bought one of these boards a couple years ago. It still works great although it has acquired some stains on it from letting things sit on it (our bad). Another poster recommended bleach powder — will try. At first, I was annoyed that there wasn’t an anti-skid bottom to the board but then realized that it was nice to have two sides (to balance the knife marks which are minimal). I use a piece of anti-slip shelf liner (the rubbery mesh stuff) to hold it in place when I’m cutting up veggies. I agree with Alton: do not use a glass cutting board. They really dull your knives. You need a board to give a little to the blade; this board fits the bill with little maintenance.
Customer Review: Not Up to My Standards - I don’t recomend it
I bought one of the brown epicurean cutting boards a few weeks ago, and I really regret it.
First problem: When I removed the large label/sticker that goes all the way across the front of the board, the area under the label/sticker was much lighter than the rest of the board. I thought that very unsightly discoloration would proably go away as I used the board and washed it a few times, but it didn’t.
Second Problem: This board shows knife blade marks, and the board surface soon becomes rough and unsightly, as more cuts in the surface of the board accumulate.
Third Problem: The board stains easily. Washing it doesn’t remove the stains, though a bleaching powder will.
I’ll probably toss this one out soon, and replace it with a hard impervious ceramic board. buy from here…

Customer Review: Not as good as I expected.
Overall a good tool, however it is difficult to open the tools, actually broke my nail trying to open it. However did use it to clip my nails. Have not used it much though. Sturdy good product.
Customer Review: Great little knife, I carry it everywhere I go!
I love this knife. I carry it in my purse or backpack. It goes with me everywhere, except on airplanes
I’ve had a use for all of the blades and they are wonderful.
The only thing I don’t care for is the hook. It is used in Europe to carry their string bags. I have not found a use for it here in the US. I would just as soon not carry the extra weight. My old knife had another tool instead of the hook, which would be much more preferable.
Yeah, Victorinox! Another great product. (Get rid of the hook for the US market and you’ll get 5 stars.

Customer Review: Outstanding fit and finish…
I have about a dozen Swiss army knives both Wenger and Victornox, This knife has all the best features and has a wonderful fit and finish! Outstanding!
Customer Review: an amazing knife but see if it theright 1 for you
This knife is amazing, I have been collecting Victorinox knives since I was 8 and have over 75, so I am a very qualified person in this subject. This is an amazing knife it has every basic tool plus more, you can even use it to hammer in a nail, (but don’t use the handles). The only problem with it is the size makes it hard to grip and use the awsom screwdriver. If you want it mainly for the screwdriver I suggest buying 1 of the cybertools because they are smaller and way easer to grip. I work as a yacht captain and use the cybertool 34 every day. The amazing thing about Victorinox is that they make a knife, (or as I perfer the term multi tool because if you’ve noticed it doesn’t only have a knife), so first befor you buy a knife check out which one fits your purpose. lastthing is stay away from the cheep Wenger knives, they are not as good and Victorinox is the Origional and Wenger is a fake copy cat. buy from here…
Brita Water Pitcher Replacement Filter
September 30, 2008
Customer Review: No More Bottled Water
I have been using the Brita water system for years and just bought my filters again. I live on the 17th floor and I don’t have to carry water up in the elevator anymore. Brita’s water system is the best way to have good tasting water conveniently located in your refrigerator.
Customer Review: Been using them for years, and work good!
I’ve been using these for years and they work good. I just moved into a new apartment that has hard water and noticed that after filtering the apartment water, it doesn’t taste quite as good as at home, but at least I know most of the bad stuff is still being filtered out. buy from here…
Wagan Brite-Nite Spotlight

1 Million Brite-Nite Spotlight Lantern EL-2341
Customer Review: Useful spotlight
We bought this for the spotlight and the rest was just incidental, but found the other florescent light actually quite useful. The spotlight is REALLY bright, you can see a very long distance, perfect for finding the dogs when they wander away from the porch lights at night. it seems quite well made, at least so far. My only negative comment is that it’s a little heavier than I would have liked, and when the charge goes, it goes fast, but that’s minor. buy from here…
Woodcraft and Camping
September 27, 2008
Customer Review: A great “Back In The Day” read …….
Talk about a look back in time; this little book makes you appreciate the times Sears was living. It’s amazing how much some things have changed, yet so much has remained the same. Nothing really profound here, just a great expression of the ways things were in that period of time. The writing style of that period is refreshing, as well.
Customer Review: Reprint of 1880s “Romantic Period” articles/book
In this book, “Nessmuk” (a pseudonym for George W. Sears) provides a moderately entertaining read. He writes during, and was an active participant in, the “back to nature movement” during the Victorian period. He writes about the glory and romance of camping, woodcraft, woods travel, and flyfishing using minimalist methods. The info on reflector fire-building, hatchets, fishing with worms/grubs is good, basic lore that everyone needs to learn; however, the book lacks detail on many other basic aspects of woodcraft and Northwoods style camping and outdoor survival, especially collecting and storing food and winter living. If the reader follows the author’s recommendations during a lengthy outing in the Northwoods or boreal forest, they’d likely get into major trouble. More info is needed than presented here by Nessmuk if one plans their own 10-day adventure crossing a big stretch of woods. In summary, yes, it’s a quaint and entertaining read, but if you want less romanticizing/glorification and more detail, check out “Camp and Trail Methods” by E. Kreps and “Northern Bushcraft” by Mors Kochanski. (Note: This review written by a primitive survival expert and former fur trapper. I gave this book 2 stars to make a point regarding safety. Many a person has died or nearly died in the outdoors by following the ways of romantics/mystics rather than seeking knowledge from and following the ways of realists — the practitioners. Although Nessmuk teaches solid methods, he leaves too many important things unsaid for students of the outdoors. If you just want to be entertained, then buy the book. buy from here…
Brunton Classic Compass
September 27, 2008
This classic, analog compass provides all the information that got explorers around perfectly well for hundreds of years, in a snappy, optic green package. It features 2-degree graduations (the series of degree markings on the azimuth ring used for taking bearings) and adjustable declination (the difference in degrees between magnetic north–the direction the magnetic needle on a compass points–and true or geographical north, which is the direction maps are printed toward. It also features 0-35 degree inclination scale (the distance between two points on a map as they relate to the distance between those two points on the earth) and displays this in both inches and millimeters.
Customer Review: Excellent
This an excellent, inexpensive compass which I use in the car for navigating. I understand that one needs a sighting mirror for serious work, but I just use it in the car. It has good visibility, is lightweight, accurate, and best of all, doesn’t cost that much. It’s cheap enough so that if I lose it, I can buy another one, and it’s more than accurate enough for my needs. I like the green baseplate, which allows me to find it in low light if I drop it. The needle is quite responsive, and you don’t have to jiggle the case to get it to move as in many cheap compasses. All in all a good, decent quality, inexpensive compass.
Customer Review: Excellent Basic compass
I found this compass to be easy to use as we go geocaching. I would recommend it as a Basic compass. buy from here…

Petzl TacTikka Plus Headlamp
September 27, 2008
The Petzl TacTikka Plus is a tactical version of the popular Tikka Plus Headlamp. It has all of the great features including 4 LEDs instead of 3, a push on/off button instead of a slider switch, a tiltable housing, and 3 brightness settings with strobe function. These features have been combined with a red lens that easily flips down over the LED’s for night vision. It is also water-resistant for all-weather use. The 150-hour burn time and durability of the LED makes the TacTikka Plus reliable. It doesn’t throw out huge candlepower (33ft or 10m), making it ideal for activities requiring close-up lighting like trail hiking, setting up camp, and reading. The TacTikka Plus runs on 3 AAA batteries (included), and at 2.5 ounces, weighs next to nothing in your pack.

Customer Review: My Sister is a Quilter
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister who is a quilter. She raved about it once she tried it on, loves the light weight and the concentration of light on the areas of the quilt she’s working on. The best comments I can give for this review is that she recommended it to several of her friends within days of using it.
Customer Review: Wonderful Utility for Light
Bought for my husband and he loves it. It frees your hands when you need a light over an object or project you’re working on. Think I’ll get one for myself, because you can use it for reading at night, without the need of a full lamp. Great little gadget. buy from here…
