Victorinox Swiss Army One-Hand Trekker Lockblade Pocket Knife (Black)
August 25, 2008
From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army knife a century ago comes this 12-item set of stainless-steel tools–all neatly contained inside a single implement that measures just 4-3/8 inches long (111mm). Sheathed in a black cover, the One Hand Trekker Lockblade is one of only three Swiss Army multi-tools with a one-handed serrated locking blade. A valued companion, this pocket knife carries a lifetime warranty against defects. The tools include a serrated locking blade, a bottle opener with a large locking screwdriver and wire stripper, a can opener with a small screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, key ring, toothpick, tweezers, reamer, and wood saw.
About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener’s mother, and “inox,” or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.
Customer Review: Good package missing a small straight blade
A good package for camping and outdoor/sporting use, but unfortunatley it is limited by the lack of a non-serrated blade. A small second blade would have been a great addition and more useful than a second locking mechanism for the screwdriver. It could also benefit from a corkscrew.
Customer Review: Nearly perfect
Another quality product from Victorinox. Yes it is rather large, but I’ve been carrying it constantly for the last two weeks in my jeans pocket with no problem and will continue to do so. It does have a left handed lock which is great for me and any other lefty out there. Don’t be worried if your right handed, it easily unlocks with your right hand too. We lefties have been using the oppisite hand for things like this forever. Finally, the serrated blade is making a convert out of me. I don’t usually like them but this one is razor sharp and quite handy. The only issue that I have is the lock allows a little movement to the blade. This does not effect the function or safety but was a little disappointing to see in an otherwise great knife. Interestingly the screwdriver locks up nice and tight. I still give this knife 5 stars, a great large pocketknife, especially for the price. buy from here…
MAG INSTRUMENT 2D/C MAGLITE LED Upgrade Module
August 25, 2008
2 Cell, Maglite LED Upgrade Module, 3W Luxeon Bulb, For 2 Cell “C” Or “D” Size Standard Maglite Flashlights, Will Retro Fit Standard Maglite 2 “C” Or 2 “D” Flashlights Only, Is Cell Size Specific & Is Noted On The Hang Pack Package, Will Not Void The Mag Instrument, Inc. Warranty.
Customer Review: Awesome! Buy it. Period.
It’s brighter than the regular bulb. It focuses to a spot and also to a wide flood. It uses much less energy than the regular bulb. It is awesome!
Some differences - first of all, I think the incadescent bulb focuses slightly better, but honestly, the LED is quite superior in every other respect.
The LED has a slight blue tint whereas the incadescent has more of a yellow tint.
The combination of a Maglite with an LED bulb makes a pretty awesome flashlight. I think a much better value than a ShureFire.
I also bought a 3 watt LED AA Maglite as well as the 1 watt LED upgrade for my other AA Maglite. Love them both.
Customer Review: Awesome.
If you have a mag light you owe it to yourself to buy this. It’s like having a stadium floodlight in your hand. Brilliant and intense white light just beams out for miles. buy from here…
Fisher Price CAMPING SET w/ Lantern “IMAGINE IT ALL”
August 25, 2008
Kids can pretend they’re camping with this sturdy plastic lantern. Flip the switch to light it up, and push the button for camping sound effects that include chirping crickets and other forest animal noises. The lantern disassembles into a 6-piece play camping kit featuring a smaller lantern, a cook stove, a frying pan with plastic bacon and eggs, a canteen that holds water, a dish, and a pocketknife with a fork and a spoon. Disassembling the lantern is fairly simple, although a 3-year-old might have trouble unsnapping some of the parts. Putting the lantern back together is more difficult; it helps to follow the diagram printed on the bottom of the frying pan. Two AA batteries are required. As there is no automatic shut-off, kids need to be reminded to switch the lantern off after use to avoid draining the batteries. –Elisabeth Fredrickson
Customer Review: Excellent!
This was the hit of Christmas. My four year old grandson just loves it. He likes the fact that it comes apart and goes back together to make a lantern. It is excellent fun and the adults love it too.
Customer Review: Godson Loves it!
I purchased this for my Godson’s 4th b-day back in March 2007. It was the first toy he opened after all the gifts were open. He and his cousins all had a ton of fun together playing. I noticed he would come back upstairs to have one of us put it back together for him but it didnt seem to bother him. I was over at their house this past week and he still is playing with it. His mom said he uses it every night as a nightlight in his room. buy from here…
Spunky’s Camping Adventure (Spunky)
August 22, 2008
Everyone’s favorite puppy dog is back in an all-new wilderness story. This time Spunky joins Mark and the whole Dobson family on an exciting summer vacation in a beautiful mountainous park. But things get difficult when Mark and Spunky meet a bully named Buzz and his dog, Snapper. Learning to “love your neighbor” is the lesson Mark and Spunky learn as Buzz and Snapper pull them into some pretty scary situations. A run-in with a cantankerous balk eagle and a canoe ride down dangerous white-water rapids make this a summer adventure kids will never forget.

Customer Review: Awesome Deal
My Daughter Loves Spunky, and it would be nice if they had more than 3 adventures…
Customer Review: Kathy Thomas
This story really kept the children’s attention while teaching them a valuable life lesson - Even though you may not like someone at first, give them a chance. You may not know the whole situation. We also enjoyed trying to find Spunky’s ball that was hidden on each page. buy from here…

Customer Review: Great book for begginers and serious backpackers!!!
I bought this book looking for a guide of some kind to help me know what to exspect, equipment I needed, and how to plan a trip. I got all I was looking for and more, I live and have grown up what most would consider a typical countryboy and have been hunting, camping, and fishing since I was old enough to walk, but I had never been on a long backpacking trip and have really always wanted to try it and this book is a great way to do it, it tells you everything you can think to ask and some you hadn’t.I am going to head out on my first trip with confidence and ready for things that are going to happen. I have to say this guy knows what he is talking about andI would recamend you to buy this if you are planning even a short day hike. also the book is made to carry along in your pack with its plastic covered covers and pages. I would like to thank the auther in closing for this book it may have saved me alot of problems and maybe alot of injures.
Customer Review: Fantastic!
I’m new to backpacking. I bought a few backpacking books recently, and none of them are more interesting and clearly written than this book. Karen Berger has a great, down to earth writing style without being too “breathy” or wordy. She gets down to the point, shows specific examples, and breaks things down in a way that can be understood by anybody. buy from here…
